Pebble Fairy hopes to sprinkle some positivity

Olivia Coffey, aka The Pebble Fairy, is attempting to spread the love and encourage positivity by distributing pebbles with inspirational quotes on them in random locations.

Ms Coffey said the idea behind Positive Pebbles is quite a simple one.

“We are all living in challenging times,” she said. “Whether it’s work stress or life issues we all seem to carry a little bit too much sometimes. It’s so easy to become over-driven, anxious, and be ‘on the go’ all of the time. While some of us are good at managing it, others don’t find it as easy to manage.

“I suppose I hoped that if, for whatever reason, you were having a bad day, maybe if you stumbled upon a Positive Pebble it might just be the thing to pick you up and give you that feeling that reminds you that it will be ok, you are good enough, this too shall pass and why not enjoy today,” she says.

Ms Coffey had seen something similar done in another country and loved the idea.

“I decided to look into it a little more and do some research and I found that nothing similar was being done here so I thought, why not? I was off work with a broken hand and I was feeling the effects of cabin fever in the house so I knew this would get me out and about and I thought, no better time to start.

“I am currently reading a book called The Compassionate Mind and this also gave me the push I needed to get up and do something to perhaps benefit others.”

She started distributing the pebbles in her home in Co Galway during the summer and the idea is already gaining momentum.

“With the help of my Pebble Fairies, there is now some Positive Pebbles from Galway being spread in Dublin, Donegal, Waterford, London, and even in Barcelona. I am thrilled that it can reach people right around the world after just a few short weeks,” she said.

“It really is for everyone. There is no hidden agenda, or cost or anything else associated with Positive Pebbles.

“If you find a pebble it’s yours to keep,” she added.
