An elderly man has died following a house fire in South Dublin.

An elderly man has died following a house fire in South Dublin.

He was found at a house on Merrion Road at 3pm this afternoon and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A dog was also killed in the fire.

Three crews of the Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene.

The fire is not believed to be suspicious.
