Case against Nama official accused of information leak adjourned
Paul Pugh, aged 56, who has an address at Clontarf Road, in Dublin has been charged under section 7 of the 2009 National Assets Management Agency (Nama) Act.
His charge states that on or about June 6 in 2012, at a location within the State he intentionally disclosed by email confidential information relating to McCabe Builders (UK) limited to a named individual at investment firm Connaught and Whitehall Capital UK Ltd.
He appeared before Judge Michael Walsh yesterday at Dublin District Court where a solicitor for the DPP explained that more time was needed to complete the book of evidence.
Defence solicitor Michael Staines said he was consenting to the case being adjourned.
Mr Pugh, who did not address the court, was remanded on continuing bail and ordered to appear again in September to be served with the book of evidence.
At a previous hearing Detective Garrett Lynch of the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation gave evidence of arresting Mr Pugh by appointment at Pearse Street garda station on the morning of morning June 22.
Bail has been set in Mr Pugh’s own bond of €1,000.
The DPP has directed trial on indictment which means he will be returned for trial to the Circuit Court after the book of evidence has been served.
Under the terms of bail, Mr Pugh must also sign on every Monday at Clontarf garda Station between 9am and 9pm.
The offence is contrary to section 7(1) and 6 and section 202(2) of the NAMA Act. He has not yet entered a plea to the charge.
