Glandore invests €1.5m in Cork flexible workspace

Tánaiste Simon Coveney officially opened Glandore's first flexible workspace in Cork City Centre at Lapps Quay, which the company invested €1.5m into.

The newest office space added 300 desks, bringing the capacity to nearly 3,000 across their nine locations in the country.

The Lapps Quay premises spans 18,000 sq ft over two floors in the city's docklands.

Tánaiste Simon Coveney said: "The choice of Cork City for Glandore’s latest flexible office space expansion and investment is a key part of ensuring that spaces such as these drive Ireland’s foreign direct investment growth.

"I commend Glandore for contributing to Cork’s business ecosystem and their new offices in City Quarter, Lapps Quay will greatly help to meet the needs of growing businesses in Ireland.

"Some of Ireland's most dynamic and celebrated multinationals began their life in Glandore’s workspaces, including Facebook, Twitter, Dropbox and current members here in Cork, Park Place Technologies.”

Last year saw Dublin's serviced office market increase by 50% (8,000 additional desks) in 2018, according to research carried out by Click Offices.

Founder of Glandore Michael Kelly said the company always had a love of Cork:

"In terms of business, it has been our vision to bring our experience, professionalism, care and hospitality to local and international firms seeking a base outside of Dublin, and Cork was the natural location for our expansion, and is set to become the fastest growing city in Ireland over the next 20 years.

"We can also attest to Cork’s accolade as one of the friendliest places in the world - we have been given such a warm and supportive welcome by the local community and we were really excited to have welcomed our first members to Glandore Cork last November.”
